Waldameer opens two new rides

Waldameer Park & Water World, Erie, Pennsylvania, has introduced Whirlwind, a compact spinning coaster from Visa International and a six-lane Rally Racer mat slide complex from ProSlide Technologies.

Whirlwind, a Compact Spinning Coaster model MV608 brokered by Rides-4-U, is a family ride for young children and their parents and siblings with a figure-8 layout. The Rally Racer is 48 feet (15 m) tall and each lane is 394 feet (120 m) long. It takes about 14 seconds to descend and replaced two speed slides installed in 1989.

Park CEO Paul Nelson said that parents have enjoyed riding Whirlwind with their children. “They have a good time riding together,” he reports. “Guests enjoy competition, and Rally Racer allows up to six guests to start together and see who reaches the bottom first.”
