Tokyo Disneyland’s Space Mountain set to undergo major renovation

One of Tokyo Disneyland’s most iconic rides, Space Mountain, will close in 2024 and reopen in 2027 following a major renovation. The news was announced by Oriental Land Co., Ltd (OLC), the owner and operator of the Tokyo Park.

The indoor roller coaster has been a popular attraction at Tokyo Disneyland since the park’s opening in 1983. The total cost of the new Space Mountain is estimated at $436m.

An OLC spokesperson said: “This entirely new attraction will maintain its original concept as an indoor roller coaster, but will have enhanced performance and immersive special effects that will give guests even more thrills on this exciting rocket ride.”
