Thrill Lab comes to Alton Towers

Leading UK park Alton Towers will host a ‘Thrill Laboratory’ this September, analysing the behaviour of guests as they ride Oblivion and giving them a personal insight into their own psyche.

This entertaining event will attempt to explore the science of thrill using a mixture of physiological monitoring equipment and psychological tests, an exhibition and talks.

Run by artist Brendan Walker, the world’s only ‘Thrill Engineer,’ Thrill Laboratory follows a similar event at the Science Museum in London last winter. Brendan will be joined at Alton Towers by his trusted ‘Thrill Technicians’ and assistants, all trainee doctors of psychology, and a team of ‘Thrill Technologists’ specialising in capturing emotional experiences for broadcast and analysis.

Thrill Laboratory will be a ticketed event run according to demand and all participants will be presented with digital video souvenirs to take home from the day. Dates, subject to confirmation, will be September 12, 13 and 14.
