TEA Asia Pacific Division networks at Chinese industry summit
In October 2019, the Asia Pacific Division of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) participated in the 6th SCPR – The Summit of Chinese Park & Resort, organised by Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment Company (BSH Investment). The Summit invites 300 participants from sectors that are part of the theme park industry chain – such as tourism and travel, intellectual property, business, technology, creative disciplines, real estate and planning – as well as organisations serving the global theme park industry, such as the TEA.
Universal Beijing Resort is being developed, constructed and operated by Beijing International Resort, a joint venture that is 70% owned by BSH Investment and 30% owned by Universal Parks & Resorts, a business unit of Comcast NBCUniversal. BSH Investment was founded to support the investment of Universal Beijing Resort. A featured speaker was Tom Mehrmann, president and general Manager, Universal Beijing Resort.
Addressing the Summit, vice president of the TEA Asia Pacific Division Owen Zhao of Max-High Entertainment spoke about TEA and its activities including the TEA Thea Awards and the TEA SATE conference. There was also a panel featuring representatives of TEA member companies including Lappset Group and Thinkwell in discussion with representatives of Universal, Haichang Ocean Park and BSH.
