Successful season for Blackpool Resort Pass sales

The Blackpool Resort Pass – allowing combined admission to UK town’s Pleasure Beach, Tower, Sea Life aquarium and Madame Tussauds waxworks among other attractions – has notched up sales of almost £1 million in its first season.

Nine months after going on sale this spring (after a trial period in 2012), the Resort Pass has brought in revenue of £980,000 ($1.57m/€1.17m), representing the equivalent of 92,730 individual attraction tickets.

There are two Blackpool Resort Passes, priced at respectively at £52.50 and £77.50  – a significant saving on individual admission to the participating attractions. The Original Resort Pass allows one visit each to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, The Blackpool Tower Eye, The Blackpool Tower Dungeon, Sea Life and Madame Tussauds. The Resort Pass+ also offers access to Blackpool Zoo, Sandcastle Waterpark and Blackpool Model Village.

Research by Marketing Blackpool showed that 67% of Resort Pass users stayed in Blackpool for four nights or more while using it. Details and options for the 2014 pass will be announced soon.
