SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment reveals details on 2019 Attractions

Florida’s tallest launch coaster, a first-of-its-kind dueling, horizontal roller coaster, an interactive sea turtle attraction and all of the fun of the world’s most famous street are some of the adventures to debut at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks in 2019. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Interim Chief Executive Officer John Reilly revealed details on the company’s 11 new attractions, one of the company’s biggest years ever, on opening day of the 2018 IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando.

SeaWorld San Diego recently announced an intense new thrill ride coming to the park in 2019. From Skyline Attractions, Tidal Twister will be the first of its kind in the world, a Horizon model duelling roller coaster-like ride with a unique horizontal design, twisting and banking along a tight-figure-8 track that includes a dynamic zero G-roll and exhilarating air time hill.

Roaring to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay next year will be Florida’s tallest launch coaster. By Premier Rides, Tigris’ triple launch steel coaster design will be a strong addition to Busch Gardens’ portfolio of thrilling rides, including some of the top steel coasters in the world. This 150 foot (46 m) tall coaster is designed to mimic the awe-inspiring agility of the tiger.

At SeaWorld San Antonio, three new experiences make up Turtle Reef. First, an interactive sea turtle attraction will give guests an up-close look at threatened and endangered sea turtles and the threats they face in the wild. The focal point of Turtle Reef will be a 126,000-gallon reef-themed environment, with a unique and natural bio filtration system which reduces water and energy consumption and allows for a bio-diverse, multi-species habitat, including green sea turtles and hundreds of multi-coloured Caribbean

fish. Additionally, two new family rides will also debut. An Airboat from Huss Park Attractions, Riptide Rescue is where younger guests can board a boat and set out on their own sea turtle rescue mission. Sea Swinger, a Midi Discovery by Zamperla will be one of the tallest, fastest and most thrilling swing rides in the entire state of Texas, swinging riders 180º in both directions while twisting them in a circle.

Premiering at Aquatica San Antonio in 2019 will be the tallest drop slide in Texas, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls. This steep, one-of-a-kind, multi-drop tower slide from ProSlide is named after Ihu, Aquatica’s colourful gecko, who searches for the biggest thrills, steepest hills and coolest spills in the waterpark.

In 2019 and located in the Ireland section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Finnegan’s Flyer is a Screamin Swing from S&S, soaring riders more than 80 feet (24 m) high. Finnegan’s Flyer features two pendulum-like arms, seating 32 riders that fly progressively higher with each swing, reaching a staggering height of more than 80 feet with a speed of 45 mph (72 kph).

Water Country USA in Williamsburg will debut Cutback Water Coaster from ProSlide, Virginia’s first hybrid water coaster, and also the only RocketBLAST coaster on the East Coast. This revolutionary water propulsion ride will merge two unique technologies – a water jet propulsion system and exhilarating saucer feature. Thrill-seekers will board a four-person raft, speed along an 856 foot (261 m) slide, jet through tunnels and slide onto the wide-open space of massive saucer-shaped features. The steep angles of the saucers provide a drop-and-dive sensation as riders race along the edges.

Aquatica Orlando will become the leader among Florida waterparks with more high-thrill rides than any other when it opens KareKare Curl by ProSlide in 2019. Aquatica Orlando celebrated its 10th anniversary this year.

SeaWorld Orlando is bringing the world famous Sesame Street to park guests. Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando will feature the iconic Sesame Street neighbourhood including Abby Cadabby’s garden, Big Bird’s nest, Mr. Hooper’s store and the famous 123 stoop as well as all the Sesame Street characters. Exciting rides, dry and wet play areas, and interactive experiences including opportunities to mingle with characters are a part of this fully immersive land. A daily Sesame Street parade will be SeaWorld Orlando’s first-ever parade. Six colourful, themed rides complete this amazing new land including Elmo’s ChooChoo Train where guests help Elmo find some of his favorite things in nature during a bell-ringing, horn honking train ride, Cookie Drop, a family-friendly vertical drop ride, Big Bird’s Twirl N’ Whirl, a family favorite tea cup ride, Abbey’s Flower Tower, taking guests high above Sesame Street and Slimey’s Slider, a slide and glide ride through Oscar’s treasured compost collection. Super Grover’s Box Car Derby from Zierer is a family-friendly coaster, the perfect first steel roller coaster for kids and adults.

SeaWorld’s partnership with the Sesame brand and Sesame Workshop spans 40 years, and includes SeaWorld being the exclusive theme park partner for Sesame Workshop in the United States. The beloved family brand will celebrate 50 years in 2019 and SeaWorld Orlando’s biggest Sesame expansion inside the park is an exciting part of that celebration.
