Blackpool is expected to get a new giant Ferris Wheel in time for its annual illuminations, due to start in September.
Norman Wallis of Dreamstorm International, who this summer has been running a travelling fairground operation on the site of the former Pleasureland park in Southport, has succeeded in gaining temporary planning permission for a ride on the Central Station car park near Coral Island.
The ride in question will be a 55-metre ‘R60SV’ model by Ronald Bussink Professional Rides featuring air-conditioned gondolas and LED lighting. Subtitled the ‘Wheel of Excellence’ it previously operated at Holland’s Tilburg Fair in July.
