Over 100 “thrill streakers” shed their clothes and their inhibitions to set a new world record for a naked rollercoaster ride on August 8. The stunt, at Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea, England, also raised more than £22,000 ($34,000, €26,000) for breast cancer research.
Just 40 naked riders filling one train of the Green Scream Rollercoaster were all that was required to smash the previous record of 32, set in 2004 on Nemesis at Alton Towers. However, 102 people turned up at Adventure Island, so the park ran the ride three times.
Sponsorship money from the event was donated to Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation’s Bosom Pals Appeal.
