Meet the new TEA president…

Steve Thorburn elected

Steve Thorburn, principal of AV entertainment specialist Thorburn Associates, has been voted in as president elect of the TEA (Themed Entertainment Association).

“The TEA presidency demands vision, leadership and commitment,” says sitting president Nick Farmer. “Steve Thorburn has all three.” Farmer will formally pass the president’s gavel to Thorburn this November in Orlando, during the TEA members’ meeting at IAAPA Attractions Expo.
A TEA member for 15 years, and treasurer for the last four years, 46-year-old Thorburn has served as project manager and engineer on more than 2,000 projects, several of which have won Thea Awards. As a lecturer, he has logged more than 40,000 student hours.
“I believe I can make substantial contributions in several areas,” says the man himself, “especially in TEA’s current efforts to grow the association and diversify its membership. And with four years’ experience as TEA treasurer, I will also help keep us fiscally responsible.
