Legoland Florida Resort is taking guests from the theatre to the theme park in early spring 2019 with the launch of The Lego Movie World. Created in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, this impressive expansion features three attractions, inspired by the characters and themes of the worldwide blockbuster The Lego Movie and the upcoming The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. The marquee attraction, The Lego Movie Masters of Flight, was on the show floor of the 2018 IAAPA Attractions Expo as Legoland Florida Resort and Brogent Technologies, Inc. joined together to share the latest details on this state-of-the-art flying theatre attraction. The new attraction represents the first installation of m-Ride Flying Theatre in the world, in which seating is rotated to face the screen.
The creative masterminds from Merlin Magic Making, the global creative and delivery division of parent company Merlin Entertainments Group, have brought this immersive one-of-a-kind experience to life. “ The Lego Movie World is the ultimate destination for fans of the films and the only place where guests can step into The Lego Movie universe,” said Keith Carr, project director of Merlin Magic Making. “We are confident this will be an incomparable and unforgettable escape that the whole family will want to experience again and again and every seat will offer an amazing view as wind, mist and scent fully engage the rider’s senses.”
The Lego Movie Masters of Flight takes guests on a suspended ride aboard Emmet’s Triple Decker Couch surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen, giving the sensational feeling of flying through a world created completely from Lego bricks. The attraction is the first in the world at a major theme park that embeds a 180º turn in the ride experience. The ride animation will feature a humorous and magical adventure as guests soar through Cloud Cuckoo Land, dive to Middle Zealand and splash down on the waters of Pirate’s Cove. A number of celebrities from The Lego Movie films lend their voice to the ride animation, including comedian Nick Offerman, as he channels his inner Metalbeard leading the charge on the invading pirates.
The Lego Movie World features two additional family-friendly attractions. On Unikitty’s Disco Drop, guests enter through the rainbow portal to join the fun with Unikitty and her many moods. This ride swoops guests to the tiptop of Cloud Cuckoo Land, then drops, spins and bounces them back down to earth, creating a thrilling and fun experience. In the Battle of Bricksburg, Duplo aliens have invaded Bricksburg to come and play. Riders are challenged to stop Duplo aliens from invading and stealing Lego bricks by spraying water at targets.
The Lego Movie World will also feature Emmet’s Super Suite, a character meet-and-greet experience where guests can hang out with Emmet and all of his friends inside his apartment, the Taco
Tuesday Everyday eatery, The Awesome Shop, filled with take home memories, and a space-themed playground structure inspired by Benny’s spaceship with special photo opportunities.
To continue the fun, guests can enjoy the ultimate vacation (or slumber party) just steps away at Legoland Hotel in a new The Lego Movie World themed room. Designed with familiar scenery and beloved characters from the movie, no detail is left untouched. Adults can relax in a room inspired by Emmet’s bedroom, while kids dream of spaceship adventures in the children’s room, modeled after Benny’s Spaceship.
