Legoland California celebrates the holidays

Guests to Legoland California Resort, Carlsbad, California can feel the Lego cheer from November 23 through December 31 with live entertainment, festive décor, and the world’s largest Lego Christmas.

The annual holiday celebration features a new show in Fun Town, Santa’s Top Elf. The Park’s official pop rock Holiday Glee Club the Yule Tides will also perform new and classic carols.

Fun Town is to transform into a winter wonderland with the famous Lego Christmas tree, standing 30-feet tall and constructed out of more than 245,000 forest green Duplo bricks, adorned with more than 400 Lego ornaments and 11,000 LED lights shining through the winter nights. This year, the Lego tree features some special Unikitty Lego ornaments in honour of the park’s  upcoming new land The Lego Movie World, opening Spring 2020.

Guests wanting to snap the perfect holiday card photo can pose with life-size Lego models of Santa and his reindeer in Fun Town or with their favourite festive costume characters which inlcude Lego Santa, Lego Toy Soldier and new this year, the Lego Gingerbread Man.

The Legoland Hotel and Legoland Castle Hotel will also join in on the holiday celebration with décor, live entertainment, and the ultimate pajama party throughout the holiday season. The holiday festivities continue at Sea Life aquarium with a special daily dive show and winter craft activities.

As the holidays wind-down, families can countdown the end of the year at Legoland California Resort during the annual Kids’ New Year’s Eve party on December 31. Guests can rock into the New Year with Lego characters Jake and Emily in the new Lego Rock Band. After jamming out at the Miniland Stage, guests can head over to the Castle Stage to become judges in the new show,  ‘Legoland’s Got Talent’. The interactive show features everything from singers to gymnasts to ukulele performers and the audience will vote for the winning act. Starting at 6 p.m., the party moves to San Francisco in Miniland U.S.A. where the Park re-creates the famous Times Square ball drop with a giant Lego brick falling 22 feet in the air. Families can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display as the Lego brick drops, welcoming in 2020.
