KidZania strengthens its presence in Japan

KidZania’s story in Japan started back in 2006 in Tokyo, with the opening of its first-ever franchise abroad. From then on, the edutainment concept has been well received by the Japanese population. Due to KidZania’s success in this territory, KidZania Koshien, the second facility in this country opened in 2009.

Now a third facility is currently under development.

Managed by KCJ Group, KidZania’s licensee in Japan, KidZania Fukuoka will be located at Japan’s southern Kyushu region at LaLaport Fukuoka shopping centre and will host more than 60 role-playing activities spread across over 6,600 square meters.

Regarding the development of KidZania Fukuoka, Xavier Lopez Ancona, CEO of KidZania, said: “We are really excited about welcoming KidZania Fukuoka. To officialize KidZania’s arrival to its new destination, an airplane fuselage landed at LaLaport Fukuoka shopping center among more than 80 journalists and special guests, who witnessed this iconic moment.

With an estimated opening by summer 2022, KidZania Fukuoka will join KidZania Tokyo and KidZania Koshien on their mission to provide Japanese visitors a remarkable experience that offers the perfect blend between learning and entertainment.
