Jenkinson’s Boardwalk adding Tidal Wave Spinning Coaster

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, will add a brand new roller coaster for the 2019 season. The Tidal Wave is a surf-themed SBF/Visa Spinning Family Coaster model 5.0 brokered by Rides-4-U that was inspired by the iconic beach culture of the Jersey Shore’s Point Pleasant Beach. The Tidal Wave can hold up to 20 riders at a time in a total of five cars. This two-minute ride spins in a clockwise manner and reaches top speeds of 20 mph (32 kph).

Standing at approximately 90 feet (27 m) wide and 20 feet (6 m) high, the Tidal Wave is replacing the Flitzer Roller Coaster at the far south end of the amusement park. The Flitzer was part of Jenkinson’s Boardwalk for more than 20 years. Due to increasing manufacturing and operating costs, Jenkinsons decided to replace it with a new Spinning Family Coaster.
