Indiana Beach acquires Clementon Lake Park and Splash World

Indiana Beach Amusement Park, Monticello, Indiana, has added a second park with the acquisition of Clementon Lake Park and Splash World, Clementon, New Jersey.

Like Indiana Beach, Clementon Park is an historic park that was on the brink of extinction. “I love Americana and vintage amusement parks,” said Gene Staples when asked about the 114-year-old park. “We were successful in reviving Indiana Beach in 2020. This amazing opportunity for Clementon was brought to our attention in late February, and we were lucky enough to acquire it at auction. Our goal now is to use what we learned at Indiana Beach and bring that knowledge to relaunching Clementon Park. Our focus will be to assess immediate needs, and in a very abbreviated timeframe, do our best to have the Splash World portion of the park open by Memorial Day weekend, if not a refreshed park as a whole.”

Clementon Lake Park and Splash World is a 52-acre park that originally opened in 1907 as a “trolley park” to boost weekend trips on the transit line to Philadelphia. In 2003, Splash World was added to the park landscape.
