On March 16th the adventure began. In Cancun, Mexico, La Gran Rueda Cancun opened on March 16 when CEO Rene Aziz and local dignitaries cut the ribbon. From Dutch Wheels, the 60 meter (197 foot) wheel is rimmed with 42 closed eight-passenger air conditioned gondolas. A ride on the wheel takes 30 minutes.
