These cute little driverless vehicles are called ‘pods’ and they’re used to transport passengers between the business car park and the main terminal at Heathrow Terminal 5. But could perform a similar function at your park or attraction?
The 21 battery-powered, emission-free pods were introduced to cut down on the number of internal bus journeys at the London airport and are capable of transporting around 30,000 passengers every month.
A much large order was recently secured for Amritsar Airport in northern India. Heathrow is a 75% shareholder in the vehicle’s manufacturer, Ultra Global PRT, based in the English city of Bristol.
