“Last season we made great strides in balancing the parks’ rides and attractions by adding family offerings like Wiggles World and Thomas Town,” says Six Flags President and CEO, Mark Shapiro. “In 2008, we round out the revitalisation of the company with the unprecedented introduction of seven coasters and new thrill attractions that will equally appeal to teens and families.”

The $2.5 million Thomas Town attractions planned for the parks in Georgia and Valencia will feature a train ride by Metallbau Emmeln, travelling through Thomas’ mythical home on the Island of Sodor, Also featured will be Thomas-themed play areas, merchandise outlets and character appearances by Sir Topham Hatt, controller of the railway.

At The Great Escape, Wiggles World will be a themed children’s area based on The Wiggles children’s entertainers, featuring rides, shows and other attractions. At a cost of $3 million, the new children’s area will include specially-themed Wiggles rides, including The Big Red Car and The Big Red Plane, both from Zamperla, as well as a new retail location and a restaurant called the Yummy Yummy Café. At the same time, Splashwater Kingdon will also debut a new Bullet Bowl waterslide from ProSlide Technologies with the name of Wild Wedgie.
