Familypark invests heavily for the 2021 season

The park's opening date has yet to be confirmed

Despite the challenging times for the entire leisure industry, further investments are being made in the Familypark to expand the range of offers, with intensive work carried out over the winter on the new season for 2021.

Included is a newly developed ride from the Italian manufacturer Zamperla, unique in Austria and otherwise only seen in Europe in the French park Walibi Rhône-Alpes and the Danish amusement park Bakken. However, the theme and name of the attraction are unique. With the French designer Fabien Renoux, a fantastic journey to the stars was created through design and colouring – hence the name Stellarium. In keeping with the theme world adventure castle, the system is reminiscent of a miraculous device that was constructed by an astronomer of the Middle Ages in order to embark on a journey into the galaxy.

Eight gondolas on four arms enable 32 people to ride the Stellarium. The special feature of this family thrill ride, however, are the quickly interlocking tracks on which the four arms rotate. The gondolas at the end of the arms always stay upright, and the riders experience a brief moment of weightlessness when they cross the highest point. The hypnotic movement is like a visual puzzle and is fascinating not only for the passengers but also for the spectators.

“It’s a shame that for us as an outdoor park there won’t be a scheduled start to the season this year either. We hope, however, that we will soon be able to present our new highlight to our guests on site. The Stellarium is a real novelty in the European amusement park industry and is guaranteed to generate a lot of enthusiasm, ”explains Filip de Witte, managing director of the family park.

Season 2021
Over the winter, construction work for a new major attraction began on the area of the petting zoo and will continue throughout the season. The animals are allowed to spend their well-deserved retirement in a beautiful enclosure in Rust.

The new experience is scheduled to be presented to the public at the beginning of the 2022 season. The exact nature of the attraction and theming remain a secret for the time being.
