EVO Debuts Omni Arena in Texas
Virtuix, creator of the “Omni Arena” virtual reality esports attraction, announced that EVO Entertainment Group has installed Omni Arena at its movie theatre complex in Schertz, Texas. EVO operates six locations in Texas, including three theatres that also feature bowling, dining, and games. This installation is Omni Arena’s first at a theatre venue.
“Omni Arena is a perfect addition to the entertainment experience at EVO,” said Mitch Roberts, co-founder and CEO of EVO Entertainment Group. “The unit has a modern, beautiful aesthetic that aligns with our brand image very well and offers an incredible, unmatched virtual reality experience for our guests.”
“This is our first installation at a movie theatre complex,” said Jan Goetgeluk, founder and CEO of Virtuix. “Omni Arena is an anchor attraction that draws in a new audience who may not be visiting the venue today. We are excited to partner with EVO and bring the Omni Arena esports contests to their customers.”
Omni Arena is a full-body, competitive virtual reality attraction for up to four players. Motion platforms inside the attraction enable players to walk and run around inside video games. Guests can compete for top spots on leaderboards and win a share of a $100,000 esports prize pool sponsored by Virtuix and HP.
