Efteling Bosrijk

New hotel resort planned

Efteling has announced details of a major new hotel development. The importance to parks and attractions of on-site accommodation such as this is highlighted by the fact that the Bosrijk project will be the Dutch park’s largest investment to date.

Opening December 2009, Efteling Bosrijk will cost €46 million and have room for 1,000 guests. With this extra accommodation the park hopes to attract guests from further a field, including more visitors from neighbouring countries such as Germany and Belgium, as well as stimulate more two and three day stays.

The new development, which also includes a golf course and undercover children’s play area, will make use of natural materials such as wood and stone and incorporate a number of environmentally-friendly initiatives.

As the drawing here shows, the proposed property has a distinctly classic feel to it. A total of 178 apartments and maisonettes will provide room for between four and eight guests each. Character breakfasts and easy access to the park will be offered an inducement to guests.
