Dreamland successfully exits administration

On Friday 3 November 2017, Sands Heritage Limited, trading as Dreamland Margate, successfully exited administration. This has been followed by a corporate reorganisation that aims to put Dreamland in a strong position for the future.

The recent £25 million investment has seen the first phase of redevelopment, which has enabled the re-landscaping of the park, the continued restoration of Dreamland’s vintage rides, the introduction of a contemporary street food offer and eclectic bars. This sits alongside the delivery of three new businesses to Margate seafront including Cinque Ports pub and restaurant, Ziggy’s rooftop bar and the Quarterdeck brewhouse.

The phased expansion planned for Dreamland includes the addition of more rides in 2018 to cater for families and thrill-seekers alike.

Jennie Double, commercial director at Dreamland Margate said: “Exiting administration is great news for both the organisation and for the regeneration of Margate. It means that we can look forward with real confidence as we continue to deliver the Dreamland experience to our guests. We are really excited for the future and we are building strong foundations across the entire business. This includes increasing our permanent team, which also contributes to our positive effect on the local economy.”

In other company news, Dreamland was recently awarded runner up for the Best Family Theme Park in the Family Traveller Awards. A spokesperson told Park World: “[This] is absolutely brilliant news for Dreamland and puts Margate on the map once again with the travel industry. We are delighted to have been nominated alongside such fantastic attractions and would like to thank Thanet District Council for nominating us and the public for voting for us!”
