Dragons Fly at Castle Park

Larson Scooters now open

Castle Park, Riverside, California, has introduced DragonFlyers, a classic amusement ride by Larson Manufacturing.

With a medieval theme, the Flying Scooters ride consists of eight suspended ride carriages each holding two people. As the DragonFlyers begin rotating, centrifugal force swings the cable-suspended carriages outward and upward to a diameter of 85ft.

In the front of each ride carriage is a large vertical wing that riders can move from side to side to control the movement of the vehicle. As the wing is moved, the ride carriage swings inward or outward while still traveling around the central axis.
The DragonFlyers is located next to the Big Top restaurant and is Castle Park’s 28th ride, joining favourites such as the Fireball and Merlin’s Revenge roller coasters, Dragons’ Tower, The Log Ride, Sea Dragon and The King’s Crown. Castle Park, which is owned by Parques Reundios/Castle Entertainment, also includes a 3,000 sq ft video arcade and one of the region’s best and largest miniature golf courses.
