Dollywood River Battle

River Battle, a US$5 million themed water raft ride with powerful soaker guns, will be introduced as a major new attraction for 2008 at Dollywood. The ride will be supplied to the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, park by a well-known German manufacturer.

Nine rafts, each with room for eight passengers, follow a 500-foot channel, allowing an hourly ride capacity of 800 passengers.

As well as shooting at fellow riders, guests can take aim at more than 100 animal figures including talking beavers, skunks, otters and more. Some of the targets will shoot back, while others display a variety of special effects.

River Battle will be located just beyond Dollywood’s new Mystery Mine steel coaster. As part of the new development, a 750ft walkway will be built providing a direct route to the park’s Craftsman’s Valley area from Timber Canyon.
