Disney shares Marvel Summer of Super Heroes details

Walt Disney Studios Park is preparing to welcome Marvel super heroes this summer, along with shows, new areas, and themed attractions. The new stage show will be the summer’s main event, and guests will be able to watch their favourite characters live in action.

Marvel: Super Heroes United mixes a 400 meters-squared stage with one of the biggest LED screens in Europe, special effects, and the indoor use of choreographed drones. The show utilises projections over an area of 1,000 metres-squared to immerse guests in the action as they visit Dr. Abraham Erskine’s lab alongside Doctor Strange. The 180° video experience works with 80 light projectors and a moving stage, and The Studio Theatre has been completely reimagined to welcome the show – which will be run up to five times a day from June 10th to September 30th, 2018.

The Walt Disney Company announced their €2bn plans for a multi-year expansion for Disneyland Paris in February. The new development will include a transformation of the Walt Disney Studios Park, adding three new areas based on Marvel, Frozen, and Star Wars, along with multiple new attractions and live entertainment experiences.

Disney’s Hotel New York will be reimagined into Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, and the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will likewise be turned into a new Marvel-themed attraction.

This seasonal event is part of a plan for a long-term presence at the Marvel Universe at Disney parks. Disneyland Paris will see a new Marvel themed area and attraction, as well as the first Disney Hotel to showcase the world of the Avengers in 2020.
