The Park World Excellence Awards 2020 has closed for entry. The expert judging panel is now faced with the difficult task of choosing 20 winners from over 250 entries and nominations, an increase on last year.
Event director, Paul Ryder comments: “The fact that so many operators, manufacturers and suppliers have taken the time to put themselves and others forward during these challenging times proves, perhaps now more than ever, that a Park World Excellence Award is the ultimate stamp of endorsement.”
Judge Marcus Gaines, owner of Ride and Park Media agrees: “The past nine months have, undeniably, been some of the toughest the visitor attraction industry has ever faced. Despite all this, the industry across the EMEA has continued to offer millions of guests the chance to make magical memories.”
He continues, “The second half of 2019 saw a lot developments unveiled, and despite all of this year’s difficulties , operators and suppliers have risen to the challenge continuing to unveil innovative, exciting and fun new attractions. Now more than ever, families need something to make them smile and 2020 has proven that operators and suppliers are there to ensure this is the case. With so much happening over the past 12 months, we as judges have a tough challenge in casting our deciding votes as every nominee is a worthy winner.”
Fellow judge François Mayné, freelance author and owner of OOPARC , adds: “Our industry is having a hard time this year, yet most operators and suppliers managed to finalise outstanding projects, or introduced innovative products across the EMEA region. As we are about to cast our votes for this very special third edition of the Park World Excellence Awards, I’m delighted by the tremendous amount of quality entries that were submitted.”
The 2020 Park World Excellence Awards finalists will be announced on Tuesday 10 November.
Now in its third year, the first virtual Park World Excellence Awards ceremony will be hosted on the dedicated awards website on Tuesday 8 December 2020, sponsored by Digital Centre, Hologate, Polin Waterparks and Simworx.
