BALPPA, the British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions is to host a human resources seminar this November at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Open to both members and non-members, it will include an optional networking dinner on the eve of the event.
The itinerary for the seminar, which will be held on Thursday 7 November, is as follows:
10am–10.30am: Arrival – Refreshments served
10.30am–10.45am: Welcome & Introduction – David Cam, Blackpool Pleasure Beach
10.45am–11.30am: The Employment Law rollercoaster – round up of 2013 changes – John Murphy & Charlotte Cooper, Plexus Law
11.30am-12.15pm: Employment law contractual matters, including zero hour contracts – John Murphy & Charlotte Cooper, Plexus Law
12.15–1pm: Changes in criminal record checking with the DBS – what this means for your staff – Rosie Carter, SAFE
1pm–2pm: Lunch in the Big Pizza Kitchen
2pm–3pm: Recruitment Workshop – Pleasure Beach HR Team
3pm-4pm: Historic tour of Pleasure Beach Resort – David Cam, Blackpool Pleasure Beach
The delegate rate is £40 +VAT (inclusive of lunch) for BALPPA members and £50 +VAT for non-members. The price including dinner on Wednesday night, 6 November, is £62.95/£72.95 +VAT.
