Spa World in Osaka, Japan, recently unveiled Asia’s first looping waterslide. The gravity-defying AquaLoop offers riders a heart pounding ride and was supplied by Whitewater West.
The anticipation begins as riders step into a capsule which controls a trap door that creates the ultimate thrust start. The excitement builds as riders wait for the countdown and the door opens, propelling them into a freefall drop and looping tube slide.
Not short on visual appeal, Spa World’s AquaLoop spans 203ft in length and 33ft in height and is constructed using a translucent SilkTek flume that allows bystanders to watch riders as they rush through the slide reaching speeds up to 37mph.
The AquaLoop is the third attraction provided by Whitewater West for this indoor waterpark following the introduction of a SuperBowl and a Boomerango in 2006.
