Angela’s Crealy big adventure down under!

The founder of Crealy Adventure Parks in South West England is embarking for a new life in Australia with her family. Angela Wright MBE is moving to Melbourne with husband David and children Edward, Tim and Amy.

Angela and David will continue to be board directors, but a new managing director designate, Rod Pearson, has been appointed to work alongside the park’s family owners during the next period of development. Angela’s brother Chris Down, who has worked in the business since its inception, will change roles from finance director to chief executive.

“The spirit of adventure is the driving force behind Crealy,” says Angela, adding that the parks, “have always been, and will continue to be, a family business. Rod is a seasoned professional who shares our vision and values. He comes from running multiple leisure activities in Singapore and was keen to return to his roots in the UK leisure industry.”

The Wright family established the first Crealy near Exeter in Devon back in 1989 as Angela sought to recreate her own childhood. They later acquired a park in the neighbouring county of Cornwall, which they rebranded as Cornwall’s Crealy. The two parks are now among the South West of England’s most poplar tourist attractions, having entertained over 8 million guests in last two decades.
