AAE planned for Singapore in 2011

IAAPA has confirmed that Asian Attractions Expo will take place in Singapore next June. The venue will be the convention centre at Resorts World Sentosa, the city’s new multi-billion dollar destination resort.

Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) is the largest trade show and conference for the parks and attractions industry in Asia. Following the success of this summer’s event in Kuala Lumpur, IAAPA hope again to host more than 200 exhibitors in 2011. The dates will be June 21 to 24, with the trade show running from Wednesday to Friday, June 22 to 24.

“We are very excited about taking Asian Attractions Expo to Singapore in 2011,” says IAAPA president and CEO Charles Bray. “The attractions industry is growing at a tremendous rate in Asia and that growth is exemplified in Resorts World Sentosa. The convention and meeting facilities are first class. Plus, I know everyone will enjoy exploring all Singapore has to offer before and after the show.”

Now boasting at least four major convention centres, Singapore has been ranked the “Top Convention City in Asia” by the Union of International Associations for more than 20 years. AAE last visited in 2004, and since that time several new high profile attractions have opened, which shold be of interest to AAE visitors.

At Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), the new Universal Studios park features seven themed lands and several attractions unique to Singapore. Scheduled to open at RWS in 2011 is the Maritime Xperiental Museum. The Singapore Flyer, meanwhile, is one of the world’s tallest observation wheels, towering 165-metres over Marina Bay. Across the water, the Marina Bay Sands hotel and casino development features a headline-grabbing “Sky Park” with a 150-metre long swimming pool spanning the hotel’s three towers. Visitors can to Singapore can also enjoy the city’s amazing culture, museums, botanical gardens, luxurious spa facilities, shopping and nightlife.
