A new Nickleodeon Adventure in the UK

Next month (15th February) sees children’s indoor adventure experience Nickelodeon Adventure debut in the UK at intu Lakeside in Thurrock, Essex.

Part of a new £150 million leisure complex that sits alongside the long established intu Lakeside shopping mall, the 2,000 capacity Nickelodeon Adventure Park is the product of a multi-million pound investment from Spanish operator Parques Reunidos.

The first of its kind in the U.K., Nickelodeon Adventure encapsulates an indoor space of 50,000 square feet.

The park is built around four themed play zones, each of which features key characters from the Nickelodeon portfolio, including PAW Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants.

A 4D cinema, private hire party suites, costume characters, café and gift store complete the park, creating the perfect Nickelodeon-themed day out for families to enjoy.

James Eels, U.K. director at Parques Reunidos, says: “We are thrilled to be opening in the Quay – intu Lakeside’s leisure quarter. As more and more consumers seek experience alongside their shopping trip, we hope to capitalise on the many families that have made intu Lakeside their shopping destination of choice.

“Beyond the existing audience, we’re working closely with intu Lakeside to strategically promote the park and the wider leisure development. Our aim is to bring a new range of visitors from across the South East and beyond who will shop and play in one location, whatever the weather.”

Gerald Raines, senior vice president, location based experiences for Viacom International Media Networks and Nickelodeon, said: “A key goal of ours remains bringing Nickelodeon’s much loved brands to life and enabling fans to interact with their favourite characters and shows, so we’re thrilled to open the U.K.’s first permanent indoor Nickelodeon play experience. We know fans are going to love it.”
