Europa-Park is one of the most popular destinations in Germany

The German Tourist Board (DZT) has identified the most popular attractions in Germany in an online survey of more than 13,000 travellers from over 50 countries, with Germany’s largest amusement park, Europa-Park taking 2nd place. Even before Neuschwanstein Castle, the Europa-Park in the former fishing village of Rust is one of the most sought-after holiday destinations in Germany among foreign tourists.

The result of the ninth online survey of the 100 most popular attractions, which was determined by the German Tourist Board between 14 November 2019 and 31 July 2020, is clear: more than 13,000 guests from over 50 countries voted to put Europa-Park in second place, for the second year running.
With more than 100 attractions and shows as well as 15 European themed areas, six park-owned 4-star adventure hotels and the new indoor water world Rulantica, Europa-Park was visited by 5.7 million people last year. Recently, it presented an innovative VR “world first” with the yuLLBE attraction. “We are very proud that the Europa-Park is still appreciated by our international visitors as one of the most popular short-term destinations in Europe, even in the current period with many travel restrictions,” said Roland Mack, owner of Europa-Park.

Among the top 100, visitors to Germany were chosen for famous buildings, historic places, natural landscapes, sports facilities and amusement parks, as well as traditional events and events. The ranking of the online survey is published online under www.germany.travel/top100. Petra Hedorfer, chairman of the Board of Directors of DZT said: “With this popular survey, we are gaining an authentic mood picture for ourselves and our partners in German tourism, which destinations are particularly well-known and in demand.”
