Innovation, while maintaining the traditional beauty of the wooden roller coaster is the DNA of Great Coasters International (GCI), which is why after 25 years at the top, it still has a bright future ahead.
With an esteemed track record for delivering unforgettable and unique ride experiences GCI’s story began with a partnership that looked towards the next generation of wooden coasters. While working together on Outlaw at Adventure Land (Altoona, Iowa), coaster designer Mike Boodley and master coaster builder, Clair Hain began to believe in each other and see possibilities for the future. “We had worked together for two to three years prior,” says Hain. “We understood each other’s ability and knowledge. We recognised there was potential to really reintroduce the twister-style wooden roller coasters to the industry.”
