The Reef at Castaway Bay opens for Aussie summer

The Gold Coast Sea World’s newest attraction, The Reef at Castaway Bay, has opened in time to take advantage of the Australian summer holidays.

The Reef is a fully accessible interactive splash area that is designed to “excite the young and young at heart” with a range of immersive water features and effects.

Village Roadshow Theme Parks CEO Clark Kirby said: “The Reef is the ideal attraction for the entire family to relax and play during their day at Sea World. It is an exciting addition to our Castaway Bay area and will provide hours of entertainment for guests coming into these warmer months,” he said.

“Featuring an array of water cannons, sprouts and interactive character sculptures all spanning over 740sqms, The Reef at Castaway Bay is one of Australia’s largest aquatic adventures zones. A great feature of The Reef is that the entire precinct is fully accessible so all of our guests can become immersed in the attraction and share in the experience.

This is the first in a host of exciting new attractions for Sea World Gold Coast, with the launch of the Seal Guardians Presentation also coming in the summer, along with the Sea Jellies Illuminated Exhibit, which opens in April.
