New entrance for Castleford attraction

A new visitors’ centre has opened at Diggerland in Castleford, the largest of four digger and dumper truck theme parks in the UK. The building was constructed structural and civil engineering consultancy Paul Waite Associates.

The visitors’ centre provides improved facilities for the 70-acre facility and includes a dedicated admissions area, a bigger shop, indoor play area and meeting/party rooms. Work is continuing on a separate Dig Inn restaurant building, which is scheduled to open later this year.

“This is a major step forward for us as we develop the newest Diggerland park,” says Mick Coleman, Diggerland’s operations director. “As visitor numbers continue to rise, it’s important that we provide the facilities our customers expect and deserve.”

Diggerland was founded by HE Services, the UK's largest specialist excavator hire company, and now has sites in Kent, County Durham and Devon as well as Castleford.
