More Tony Hawks coasters open
This year has seen the opening of two more Gerstlauer Spinning Coasters at Six Flags parks in the United States (pictured here is the ride at Six Flags Over Texas).
The chain chose to continue the use of the Tony Hawk (a professional skatebaorder) theme for ride at Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington, Texas, and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Vallejo, California.
The Texas ride has a layout similar to the coasters that opened at other Six Flags parks. However, in California the layout is the first of its type in North America, one of Gerstlauer’s compact designs on a base frame featuring a curving first drop, three Wild Mouse turns, two helixes, a high-incline turn and a camelback hump.
