Merlin Entertainments is due to open its eighth Madame Tussauds attraction in Berlin on July 9. The high traffic location chosen for the €10.5 million attraction is Unter den Linden, close to the Brandenberg Gate and not too far from Merlin’s existing Legoland Discovery Centre on Potsdamer Platz.

Covering 2,500sq m,  Madame Tussauds Berlin will have nine zones and feature waxworks of leading German and international figures including tennis star Boris Becker, pop star Herbert Groenemeyer and of course German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Some figures will appear in historical settings, including representations of a war bunker and the Berlin Wall.
“In Germany, the Madame Tussauds brand name enjoys huge awareness and Germans are currently the biggest single group of overseas visitors to the London attraction,” reveals a Merlin spokesperson.
