40th anniversary tome
Morey’s Piers, Wildwood, New Jersey, is asking guests to share their memories and help preserve history in a new book being prepared for its 40th anniversary next year.
When established in 1969, Morey's Piers had simple origins. In 1968, the founders Will and Bill Morey purchased a giant 12-lane fibreglass slide and placed it on what became the site of Surfside Pier, as shown in this old postcard view.
Now Morey’s Piers consists of over 100 rides and attractions spanning three piers and two beachfront waterparks, still family owned and operated. Voted one of the best seaside amusement parks in the world, it is the recipient of countless awards.
