Glow in the Park
New Six Flags parade coming soon
Published:  12 April, 2008

Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey, is preparing to introduce Glow in the Park, a new nighttime parade by Gary Goddard Entertainment. Transforming the park into a fantasyland of light and sound will be a cast of drummers, puppeteers, singers, dancers and kinetic stilt walkers.

The nighttime parade will begin near the new Dark Knight Coaster and will take approximately 45 minutes to wind through four themed sections including Movietown, Fantasy Forest, Main Street and the Boardwalk. The parade will feature five custom-designed floats, 65 performers and approximately 35 support staff members and technicians..
Goddard has enlisted some distinguished talent for the project including one of Cirque Du Soleil’s premier composers, Benoit Jutras. For float design, the internationally-acclaimed conceptual parade designer Raul Rodriguez was commissioned. Michael La Fluer, whose resume includes extensive Broadway musical and play work, artistic co-ordinator for Celine Dion’s A New Day in Las Vegas show and a Disney Imagineer, has provided choreography. The final touches are by Mia Gyzander, who has designed and constructed more than 100 breath-taking costumes.
The opening float will feature magical cirque performers and a live vocalist. The Amazonia float will follow close behind with a smoke-breathing dragon tamed by marching armies. Batman will be featured on the Gotham City, meanwhile. The Wiggles’ famous cast of characters, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and Captain Feathersword will sail next on the SS Feathersword. The parade will conclude with Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes pals on a music float, while Marvin the Martian will hover close by on his spaceship.
Glow in the Park kicks off at 9pm on May 26 and will begin daily parade operation on  June 23.
