Norman returns the Pleasure
New Pleasureland back for Easter
Published:  22 February, 2008

A fun fair will appear for a second year on the site of former Pleasureland amusement park in Southport, England. Norman Wallis of Dreamstorm International tells Park World that the rides and attractions at “New Pleasureland” will be open in time for Easter.

“We’re trying to make the place look much more like a pleasure park and less like a fairground,” he says, adding that grass is being planted at present in an attempt to introduce a bit of landscaping. “We’re also trying to open the place up a bit and put in new entrances, [former owner] Blackpool Pleasure Beach had made it like a fortress.”
Dreamstorm’s lease on the site has one year left to run, but Wallis has hinted he may be granted an extension if land owner Sefton Council has not decided on a permanent replacement for the park by the end of the season.
A March 15 opening is pencilled in at present.
