Guests at Dinosaur Park in Changzhou, China, are now being thrilled by a new beast: A Giant Discovery ride supplied by Zamperla in cooperation with Soriani Srl.
This 40-seater spin and swing ride reaches a maximum height of nearly 50 metres (147ft). According to Zamperla, this sets a new world record for this type of attraction.
Described as “the ultimate spin cycle,” the Giant Discovery features counter clockwise rotation as the gondola swings back and forth in a pendulum-like motion at up to 110km/h. The return drop delivers a number of sensations for riders, who are sat facing outwards, including weightlessness.
The ride has a footprint of 37 x 25 metres and a maximum axle height of 27 metres.The gondola swings to an angle of 120 degrees. Capacity is 800 passengers per hour.
