Another “green screen” product, and one of many on show this year at IAAPA, is My Own Adventure. This particular system makes children the stars of their own cartoons.
Each child is filmed performing a series of actions based on the storyline of the adventure they select. The footage, shot inside a themed booth that should catch the eye of passers-by, is woven into the cartoon and the child is given a DVD to take home, retailing at around $20-30.
The patent-pending process uses original characters, voiceovers and musical scores devised by Cybergraphix’ in-house creative team, although clients’ own characters and mascots can adapted for use in the cartoons on request. Brand extensions such as soft toys and movie posters are also being offered.
