BARPL partners with Huss and Sega
New deal announced for Indian market
Published:  18 December, 2007

Bombay Amusement Rides (BARPL) has formed partnerships with two major suppliers for the Indian market. For Huss Park Attractions it will provide a spares and service, but not sales, while for Sega it has secured the exclusive rights to distribute a number of arcade machines.

“The games market is booming in India,” notes BARPL’s Pradeep Sharma (pictured). “There will be 300 new indoor amusement centres opening next year and the numbers are multiplying all the time.”

BARPL has just bought a new 10,000 square metres production facility near Bombay. Sharma acknowledges that rather than “re-inventing the wheel” he would rather concentrate on producing tried and tested products, teaming up with established manufacturers where possible and bringing down the cost thanks to low Indian labour costs. BARPL is now the only ride manufacturer in India to offer German TÜV certification.
