Ticket to fly
Published:  23 October, 2007

The Singapore Flyer is a 150-metre giant observation wheel and one of six confirmed structures being planned around the world by the Great Wheel Corporation.

Located in Marina Bay, Singapore’s prime waterfront business district, it is set to become on of Asia’s most visible new tourist attractions when it opens this coming March, providing panoramic views during its 30-minute ride cycle.

Providing ticketing and access control for the attraction will be OmniTicket Network, which is just about to establish its first Asian office in Singapore. The installation will incorporate 22 ticket stations, on and off site, and also cater for internet and call centre sales and realtime online booking by travel agents.

Using OmniTicket’s OverView software, tickets will be sold on a “timed” basis allowing the operator to “pulse” guests through the attraction. Hardware will include cabled and wireless access control.
