Halloween in Hong Kong
Published:  27 September, 2007

Ocean Park guests have been told to brace themselves for Hong Kong's biggest, scariest themed party of the year - its seventh annual Halloween Bash featuring more than 250 ghosts, zombies and dancing corpses.

“We brought Halloween to Hong Kong in 2001 and I'm proud to say that is now one of the largest and most highly-attended Halloween events in the world,” observes Ocean Park chairman, Dr Allan Zeman. “A record high of more than 500,000 guests ventured through our gates for our last event.” The park's popular Raging River gets a spine-chilling makeover this year and has been transformed into a Haunted Ghost Town. For the first time ever, guests can also go on behind the scenes tours of two haunted attractions, The Last Stop and Dementia. The Last Stop is one of two authentic haunted Chinese attractions being recreated by Ocean Park, the other Chung Kwai's Ghost Gourd. “When we first launched, we were cautious about adopting Chinese themes,” reveals Zeman, “but times and people's acceptance have changed. This year we're introducing bigger, better Chinese ghost stories, along with fresh takes on Western Halloween favourites to offer an experience that is entertaining, unique and relevant to guests of all ages from around the world.”
