Frighten Pier
Published:  13 September, 2007

Brighton Pier, on the south coast of England, has a new Ghost Train, and it’s the darkest, scariest most imposing yet.

The pier’s much-loved and long-serving Ghost Train was destroyed by fire in 2003 and replaced by a triple deck travelling model, sold earlier this season, but now a new ride has been constructed by EOS Rides of Italy.

Named Horror Hotel, this latest Ghost Train is also a three-storey model, but features more track, including a dip section, its silhouette clearly visible from the seafront on Madeira Drive.

The effects inside are also an improvement on the last model, featuring a number of animated scenes. There are also three hydraulically controlled figures that peer out of windows on the ride’s façade.

The Ghost Train is equipped with 10 two-seater cars and expected to become a highlight of the pier’s ride portfolio when it opens later this month – just in time for Halloween. Riders will require 4 tokens to sample the new attraction.
