The Flamingo Land theme park and zoo is to become the first park in England to provide guests with a mobile phone ‘virtual queuing’ application courtesy of Monkwood Technologies.
Those using the system avoid queing for some of the park’s most popular attractions by wearing a wristband, scanning their details and waiting for a text message (SMS) when it’s time to ride.
According to Monkwood CEO Colin Nunn, the system can also provide lost child help, operational statistics and ways of altering crowd dynamics.
