Regulatory woes at Castaway Cove
Three months after it was installed, the new Xtreme Cyclone (pictured), a Technical Park Street Fighter, remains idle at Playland's Castaway Cove, Ocean City, New Jersey.
The 16-seat pendulum ride with inverted seating is still awaiting notorious New Jersey engineering approval. Park operator Scott Simpson has been more fortunate with his new Zamperla Helicopter ride and Pirate Island, a Wisdom Raiders ride that was re-themed. Both these attractions are now entertaining guests. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before those covers come off the cars on the Xtreme Cyclone, too.
