German ride manufacturer Huss Park Attractions is to pool resources with Heimo Animated Attractions to develop a ready-themed amusement ride.
King Kong, the latest family ride to be added to the Huss range, features a variety of newly engineered movements and a grizzly exterior inspired by the well known film of the same name.
The ride, which will also feature numerous special effects, features a single 24-seater tramcar gondola. Riders board at ground level before the King Kong figure appears to grab the vehicle and then shake it. Eventually passengers are suspended in front of the roaring gorilla’s head and surrounded by mist.
“King Kong adds a whole new dimension to our range of attractions,” believes Huss Park Attractions president Wolfgang Richter. “It is the first time we have added a full range of special effects and such detailed theming to one of our rides and this has allowed us to create something very special.”
King Kong has a height of 12 metres and a footprint of 8x10m. Utilising the single gondola, hourly capacity is approximately 500. King Kong will be the standard theme available, but Heimo will also work on other designs on request. The new ride was due to be launched officially at the IAAPA Asian Expo in Bangkok at the end of June.
