Mystery Mine opens at Dollywood
Published:  25 May, 2007

Dollywood’s new steel coaster, Mystery Mine, is now thrilling guests at the Tennessee park following a mid-May opening.

Located in the park’s Timber Canyon area, Mystery Mine is the United States’ first Euro-fighter ride from Gerstlauer and the largest capital investment in the history of Dollywood. The $17.5 million attraction incorporates a state-of-the-art show experience designed by Forrec

Mine carts plunge riders into darkness as they travel along a 1,811ft track on a 2.5-minute journey including a 95-degree, 85-foot vertical drop. Passengers manoeuvre through a series of uncertain encounters including a fall from a collapsed trestle and a plunge into an abandoned tunnel. Other ride highlights include a weightless heart-line roll, a double inversion and an Immelmann turn.
