They’ve already been immortalised in various theme park attractions around the world, but from 2011 comic book characters Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and X-Men will get an entire park in Dubai to themselves.
The park is one of the latest components to be revealed as part of the massive Dubailand project and is being developed at a cost of a reported US$1 billion. US-based Marvel Entertainment Inc, which licenses the superhero characters, has been collaborating for two years with UAE construction and real estate company the Al Ahli Group (AAG).
"Marvel is a brand that is recognised globally via its ever expanding list of superheroes," notes Mohamed Khammas, head of the Al Ahli Group. "It won't be much longer until children can experience new and exciting rides with Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four and many other superheroes right here in the UAE."
